Week 1 - Setting up basic things

I started with some random planting from last 2 weeks but as expected, things didn't move further after some initial start. I planed coriander in 2 pots and in one open area near my house.  The one is open area did not germinate. May be ants or some insects ate it or whatever.

The pot ones came up well and grew really nicely for 2/3 weeks. But the soil I used was just normal soil which had very less ingredients required to grow anything. So, soon, it started weathering. Then after some reading and asking people, I got to know about fertilisers and pest control options. Since I want to grow everything organic, I made sure the fertiliser and pesticide is chemical free.

I ordered following from amazon-

TrustBasket Organic Vermicompost Fertilizer Manure for Plants - 5 KG

Ugaoo Cow Manure - 1 Kg

TrustBasket Enriched Premium Organic Earth Magic Potting Soil Mix with Required Fertilizers for Plants - 10 KG

TrustBasket Neem Cake Powder Organic Fertilizer and Pest Repellent for Plants (450 GMS)

Mixed the items in appropriate quantity - Soil 60%, Vermi compost 20%, Cow Manure 15% and Pest Repellent 5% and created the soil for my plants.

Here are the 4 plants I started with-

1. Coriander

The coriander I started with last time, I just added above fertiliser in the pot hoping the plants to grow more properly now.

2. Baby Tomatoes

Then, there were baby tomatoes I tried earlier which were at the same stage of stalled growth. There also I added some fertiliser and transferred the plants to new bigger pot.

Since the plants are transferred from one pot to another, they are looking like dying at any moment. I just hope I haven't damaged their roots while transferring and they will start growing again.

3. Capsicum

In the same soil + mix, I threw some capsicum seeds. I hide them with paper / tissue cover for now. Hoping them to germinate in 10-14 days. We will see update on that in Week 3 blog post.

4. Brocoli

This is some serious stuff 😄

Ordered broccoli seeds from - GENNEXT SEEDS F1 Hybrid Broccoli Aria Seeds and as per instructions mentioned in the manual, put them in pot prepared with the mixture above. Hoping them to germinate in 10-14 days. We will see update on that in Week 3 blog post.

Thats all for this week. Will see the update on above items and new stuff next week 👍
